What do I do for a living? I solve problems for others.
Specifically, challenges with websites, ebooks, social media, databases, and lots of other online tech.
This site is the effort of one person, me, Tom Litchfield. I wear many hats; programmer, web developer, systems integrator and teacher.
Some people make things, I make things better.
I’ve worked in IT for nearly 2 decades, from mainframe systems to iOS apps, from ASP Classic to Ruby. I’ve worked behind-the-scenes for legends of the early Internet, big brands in finance and hundreds of small businesses and nonprofits.
In recent years most of my work has mostly revolved around WordPress, because that’s what everyone wants. Much of my work involves extending and customizing some of WP’s most popular plugins:
- Gravity Forms
- Event Espresso
- Paid Memberships Pro
- User Pro
My solutions use minimal code and proper hooks to avoid conflicts. What the heck does that mean? It means my custom solutions do not break after plugin or theme updates.
There’s something else you should know about me:
I give priority to nonprofit organizations and business owners I think are cool, because working with people I like is more important to me than financial gain.
If you’re looking for a code monkey, I’m not your guy. If you’re looking for a collaborator and friend, let’s talk.
